About Dr. Dwyer
A. Krista Dwyer, DSW, LCSW
Dr. Krista Dwyer (she/her) is a book collector and aspiring homesteader who happens to be a therapist. Dr. Dwyer believes in therapy that is educational, laid back and collaborative, which is how she operates in session. Dr. Dwyer has clinical roots in adoption and foster care systems, attachment issues, childhood trauma and family work. She is trained in adoption counseling, TF-CBT, EMDR and is a certified clinical supervisor for social workers in New Jersey. Dr. Dwyer is invested in working with individuals on building strong relationships with themselves and helping them create sustainable and meaningful change. In therapy, she encourages creativity, curiosity and self-exploration.
Dr. Dwyer is a proud social worker who received her Bachelor of Social Work from Stockton University, her Master of Social Work from Fordham University and her Doctor of Social Work from Tulane University. Her expansive scholarship interests include research on acculturation and immigration on family systems and the importance of environmental justice in Social Work practice.
In addition to therapy, Dr. Dwyer is a lover of nature, Architectural Digest’s youtube channel and antique stores. Her backup profession is to become a flower farmer.
